The goal isn’t to reject self-improvement or pretend that every piece of advice is useless. It’s to question the oversimplification, the recycled wisdom, and the occasional promise that apparently everything can be solved by waking up at 5 a.m., changing your mindset, and buying the right journal.
Meet Snarky Suzie
Of course, a blog dedicated to questioning modern wisdom needed a suitably skeptical voice.
I created Snarky Suzie as the satirical persona and narrative voice of Don’t Give A Snark!
Suzie is the Witch of Witty Wisdom. A sharp-tongued observer of motivational culture, self-help trends, viral life advice, and the endless recycling of supposedly profound ideas.
Where I might observe a trend, Suzie is more likely to put it under a bright light, poke it with a stick, and ask why everyone suddenly thinks it makes sense.
Her job is not simply to mock. Through exaggeration, sarcasm, and reinterpretation, she examines how modern wisdom gets packaged, branded, repeated, and sometimes detached from the realities of everyday life.
Lay Kim is the writer. Snarky Suzie is the satirical voice.
That distinction matters. Suzie is a fictional persona created as a creative device for exploring ideas about advice culture, motivational media, and modern wisdom.

But advice becomes interesting when we stop treating it as unquestionable truth.
That is where the satire comes in.
Through humor and commentary, Don’t Give A Snark! takes familiar ideas, turns them around, and asks what happens when inspirational wisdom meets ordinary human reality.
Why Don’t Give A Snark! Exists
The internet has no shortage of advice. There is always another quote, another productivity hack, another morning routine, another expert explaining how to completely transform your life before breakfast.
Instead of asking readers to blindly believe or blindly dismiss modern advice, the blog uses satire to encourage a little skepticism, a little perspective, and hopefully a laugh along the way.
The focus is on ideas, trends, and cultural patterns. Not attacking individuals.
